An online petition in the form of an open letter has been launched in response to the proposed bistro on the terrace of St Peter's Basilica. The petition calls for a canonical investigation into the management of Cardinal Mauro Gambetti. The letter is addressed to Cardinal Pietro Parolin. It argues that introducing a commercial activity in such close proximity to a sacred site is both canonically and pastorally inappropriate. It also draws attention to repeated intrusions and offensive acts within the basilica, raising concerns about the inadequate protection of the sacred space.

Mark Warner Warns Tulsi Gabbard's Investigation Into 2020 Election Has 'Echoes' Of Watergate WASHINGTON, Feb 4 (Reuters) - A team working for President Donald Trump's spy chief, Tulsi Gabbard, last spring led an investigation into Puerto Rico's voting machines, said Gabbard's office and three sources familiar with the previously unreported events. The sources said the goal was to work with the FBI to investigate claims that Venezuela had hacked voting machines in Puerto Rico, but added the probe did not produce any clear evidence of Venezuelan interference in the U.S. territory's elections. Reuters first reported the investigation. Gabbard's office, in a statement to Reuters, confirmed the May investigation but denied a link to Venezuela, saying its focus was on vulnerabilities in the island's electronic voting systems. Her team took an unspecified number of Puerto Rico's voting machines and additional copies of data from the machines as part of its investigation, a spokesperson for …Дагы

Lakeville, June 3rd, 2016 Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus «The night is far advanced; the day is at hand. Let us therefore lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light. Let us walk becomingly as in the day.» Roman, 13; 12-13 Dear brethren, This letter is to notify you of my decision to leave the Society of St. Piux X. In spite of my sermon on April 17th last, many of you will be surprised to learn of my departure. I hope then that these lines will show more clearly the reasons why I am leaving. I would like to say first that I did not wish that my sermon of April 17th be published urbi et orbi and that I myself did all I could to prevent its diffusion. I was preaching merely for the chapel of Montreal, that portion of the Lord’s flock entrusted to me by my superior. With that said, the Lord has willed that it be otherwise. Blessed be his Holy Name! I was born and raised in the arms of the Society. I owe everything to the work of Archbishop Lefebvre. This is why I …Дагы

Candlemas Day Tied To The Feast Day of St. Blaise on February 3rd Candles are blessed on that day in commemoration of the words of Holy Simeon concerning Christ “a light to the revelation of the Gentiles” (Luke 2), and a procession with lighted candles is held in the church to represent the entry of Christ, the Light of the World, into the Temple of Jerusalem. “Candlemas” is still the name in Scotland for a legal term-day on which interest and rents are payable (2 February). 3 February Profile Physician. Saint Dorothy of Caesarea - February 6 Also known as Dora Dorotea Dorothea Santa Dorotea is a Baroque parish church at Via di Santa Dorotea 23, in the northern part of Trastevere near the Ponte Sisto. The parish is administered by the Friars Minor Conventual, and the patron saint is Dorothy. It is an ancient church, although rebuilt twice, and is first attested to in a Papal bull of Pope Callistus II in 1123, being referred to under its old dedication of San Silvestro. In 1445 it was recorded under the double dedication of SS Silvestro e Dorotea, the latter being an obscure martyr of Caesarea in Cappadocia (modern Kayseri in Turkey) who may have been killed in the early 4th century.... Her relics were enshrined here. In 1475 the church was rebuilt and given parochial status, and in 1517 St Cajetan founded the Oratory (or Confraternity) of Divine Love in its sacristy. This is considered to have been a major event in the beginnings of the Catholic Counter-Reformation. In 1566 the church …Дагы

Fr. James Martin: Pope Leo Plans to ‘Continue Pope Francis’ Mission’ of Inclusivity for LGBTQ Catholics
Jesuit priest Father James Martin, who hosts “The Spiritual Life” podcast and is founder of Outreach, an LGBTQ Catholic ministry, said Pope Leo XIV intends to “continue Pope Francis’ mission” of inclusivity for LGBTQ Catholics after meeting with Leo in September. During a Tuesday appearance on “The Late Show,” Martin was asked by host Stephen Colbert whether Leo plans on “expanding” the LGBTQ ministry, as Francis had previously expressed interest in doing. “Yeah, the message I got from him was that he’s continuing Pope Francis’ mission and message of welcome and inclusion, and he wanted that to be broadcast,” Martin replied, drawing applause from the audience. Following up, Colbert noted he said on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” that if there were one guest he’d like to have on before his show ends in May, it would be the pope. The late-night host asked Martin whether he thought Leo would be a good guest, to which the priest responded, “I think he would be a very good guest,…
