LA BASÍLICA DE SAN MARCOS EN VENECIA, Italia. Francisco Baena Calvo La construcción de la basílica original fue iniciada en el año 828 y finalizada en el año 832, para albergar supuestas reliquias de san Marcos el Evangelista robadas de Alejandría.1 Este hecho fue fundamental para que Venecia se erigiese en sede episcopal independiente, ya que hasta entonces había estado subordinada a los obispados de Grado y Aquileia.2 Concebida en un principio con planta de cruz griega y cúpula sobre crucero y los brazos (5 cúpulas), la iglesia fue quemada en un motín en el año 975 y reconstruida en el siglo XI por arquitectos y obreros de Constantinopla. Las obras de la actual basílica de estilo bizantino se iniciaron hacia 1063, y el nuevo templo fue consagrado diez años después. En el siglo XIII se le añadió un nártex cubierto con cúpulas más pequeñas que envuelve el brazo inferior de la cruz. Fue modificada también en los siglos XV y XVII. D'Uva La Pala d'oro, conservata nel presbiterio della basilica di San Marco a Venezia, è un grande paliotto in oro, argento, smalti e pietre preziose (140x348cm)[1]. Il corredo dei suoi smalti è tra i più rilevanti nel suo genere. Alcuni risalgono alla metà del XII secolo (il Pantocratore, gli arcangeli, le feste) e sono pezzi pregiatissimi, tra i vertici dell'arte bizantina del tempo. Grande è l'eleganza del disegno delle figure e la loro realizzazione richiese un notevole virtuosismo tecnico, con l'uso della tecnica cloisonné. La basilica di San Marco a Venezia è la chiesa principale della città, cattedrale metropolitana e sede del patriarca. Assieme all'omonimo campanile e a piazza San Marco, che da essa prende il nome, è il principale monumento di Venezia e uno dei simboli d'Italia.

Non fu certamente un discepolo del Signore e probabilmente non lo conobbe neppure, anche se qualche studioso lo identifica con il ragazzo che, secondo il Vangelo di Marco, seguì Gesù dopo l’arresto nell’orto del Getsemani, avvolto in un lenzuolo…: «Un giovanetto però lo seguiva, rivestito soltanto di un lenzuolo, e lo fermarono. Ma egli, lasciato il lenzuolo, fuggì via nudo.» (Mc 14, 51-52). Quel ragazzo era Marco, figlio della vedova benestante Maria, che metteva a disposizione del Maestro la sua casa in Gerusalemme e l’annesso orto degli ulivi. Nella grande sala della loro casa, fu consumata l’Ultima Cena e lì si radunavano gli apostoli dopo la Passione e fino alla Pentecoste. Er begleitete seinen Verwandten Barnabas und den Apostel Paulus auf der ersten Missionsreise, kehrte aber, als sie in Perge in Pamphylien ankamen, allein nach Jerusalem zurück (Apg 13, 13). Es scheint, dass er den Mut verloren hatte. Auf die zweite Missionsreise wollte Paulus ihn nicht mehr mitnehmen. Später finden wir ihn wieder bei Paulus (Phlm 24; Kol 4, 10; 2 Tim 4, 11). Dann war er Begleiter des Petrus in Rom. Petrus-Erinnerungen sind auch in dem nach Markus benannten Evangelium zu erkennen, das sicher vor der Zerstörung Jerusalems (70 n. The Litany of the Saints is chanted in the procession, and the Rogation Mass follows. The older procession of 25 April, called therefore Major Litany, Christianized a pagan procession in honour of the god Robigus. The institution of the others, adopted in Rome under PopeLeo III as Minor Litanies, is ascribed to SaintMamertus of Vienne who, c.475, ordered processions with special prayers because of calamities which were afflicting the country. Las puedes visitar y venerar en templo de María Reyna de los Mártires en la comunidad de Aguas Buenas, en Silao, Gto. Anexo al Templo se encuentra un pequeño museo con algunos objetos que estos beatos utilizaron en vida. Los Mártires de San Joaquín fueron beatificados el 20 de noviembre del 2005, y su fiesta es el 13 de noviembre del presente año a la 1:30 de la tare, ellos son: Padre José Trinidad Rangel Montaño, Padre Andrés Solá Molist y el laico Leonardo Pérez Larios.
