Today, the General Secretariat of the Synod issued the preparatory framework for the October 7–14 meeting on the implementation of Amoris Laetitia between Pope Leo XIV and the presidents of the bishops' conferences. The gathering marks the tenth anniversary of Amoris Laetitia. The format is described as "synodal," involving a process of listening, prayer, and discernment. The aim is "to discern the direction in which the Holy Spirit is leading us today." The five discussion themes are: • Families today: reality, beauty and challenges • Young people and the discovery of the vocation to marriage (including cohabiting couples) • Married life: the first years of marriage—a decisive time • In the difficulties of life: accompanying and supporting • Christian families as subjects of the Church's mission The fourth theme speaks of “failure” and the “gap between the ideal and reality.” It says those who “have experienced separation and divorce” should feel listened to, involved, and co-responsible …მეტი
Rev. Gerald Murray, a New York canon lawyer, called the excommunication of the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X "a canonical mess" in an interview with Raymond Arroyo (video below). Two Canonical Mechanisms Rev. Murray distinguishes automatic (latae sententiae) penalties from imposed (ferendae sententiae) penalties requiring a judicial or administrative process. Cardinal Victor "Tucho" Fernández did not impose excommunication but declared that an automatic penalty had already been incurred, since consecrating bishops without papal mandate triggers excommunication under canon law. Decree Excommunicates Only Six Bishops Rev. Murray's central criticism: the decree names only six bishops, while the explanatory note refers to priests and laity. But a note cannot legally expand a decree's scope. The note calls priests "schismatics," yet the decree itself never declares them excommunicated. Since a penal decree must specify who committed which offense and when, and this was omitted, Rev. …მეტი
In other words, it's invalid. Church teaching says you can't be excommunicated by a heretic - LifeSite St. Thomas Aquinas: "The power of jurisdiction is not indelibly attached, nor is it connected with the power of orders. Consequently, it can be lost and suspended by heretical or schismatical persons, and therefore they neither absolve nor excommunicate, nor grant indulgences, nor do anything of the kind; and if they do, it is invalid."
A Papal Handshake, a Cathedral Fire, and a Murder: On July 4 in Lampedusa, Leo XIV shook the hands of 20 illegal immigrants who had just arrived in Europe. He reminded everyone that all human life carries immeasurable worth. One of his predecessor’s handshakes later took on a dark meaning. In 2016, Pope Francis shook hands with Rwandan national Emmanuel Abayisenga. In 2020, Abayisenga set fire to the 15th-century Nantes cathedral in France. In 2021, he murdered the priest who had taken him in and sheltered him after the fire.
Papst Leo schüttelte bei seinem Besuch auf Lampedusa am 4. Juli jedem dieser 20 Migranten, die gerade in Europa angekommen waren, die Hand.
Archbishop Bernard Hebda of Saint Paul and Minneapolis wrote on July 2 about the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX): "In the ten years that I have led this local Church, I have met many sincere people who worship regularly or occasionally at the chapels of the SSPX within the territory of our Archdiocese. I have been impressed by the strength of their families and their commitment to traditional Catholic values." He acknowledges that the FSSPX bishops’ excommunication will affect them in a particular way and hopes they will not follow them “in separating themselves from Pope Leo XIV.” Monsignor Hebda also noted that the Traditional Latin Mass is celebrated at six locations in the Archdiocese, adding: “I am confident that those who prefer the Traditional Latin Mass could find a home here.” #newsEtakruhtwp
This afternoon, Leo XIV will move to the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo for a period of rest, until Monday, July 27. During this time, general, private, and special audiences are suspended. The general audiences will resume on Wednesday, August 5. On the Sundays in July, Leo XIV will pray the Angelus in Freedom Square in Castel Gandolfo. #newsUhcuzrjysf
Lets hope for a St Paul moment blinding light for the whole church we all need it time to time correction is never fun but necessary . Fatima miracle of the sun Pius XII Saw it in Vatican Garden where that famous tree was planted by Francis
Appointing and meeting with apostates, not to mention excommunicating, does takes its toll(!) May the Holy Spirit engage with him fruitfully during his 'period of rest'
Bishop Fredrik Hansen of Oslo, Norway, issued a July 3 statement following the episcopal consecrations by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). He said the two consecrating bishops and the four newly consecrated bishops had removed themselves from ecclesial communion and unity with the Pope: “This is sad, painful, and calls us to prayer and penance.” He urged Catholics to pray the Rosary for the unity of the Church on the Feast of Saint Sunniva, July 8. Monsignor Hansen repeated Cardinal Tucho Fernández’s explanation that the consecrations were a schismatic act and that the priests “can no longer validly grant absolution in the sacrament of confession.” He also urged Catholics to refrain from attending FSSPX Masses and other activities. Addressing FSSPX faithful directly, he wrote: “I understand that these are difficult and distressing days for you. You may find yourselves pulled in different directions, and perhaps stand bewildered before all that has now come to pass.” He …მეტი
Priest from excommunicated sect says future pope will reverse Vatican move This whole excommunication things is appearing more and more to be one huge joke, I know no one taking this matter seriously. Where is Pope St Pius X when you need him?
Did the 12 Apostles have to put up with this Vatican bureaucracy tit a tat? No. Why? Because Christ our Savior was their be all and end all. I doubt there are 4 priests today who could believe and declare Jesus Christ as their be all and end. They are too fretted with their standing and how they appear to others instead of Christ. It is sickening.
Just as predicted, when the Holy See announced the excommunication of the bishops consecrated by the Society of Saint Pius X, the headlines were horrible. Attention immediately centred upon the gravity of the penalty and the implications for the Society’s future. Supporters and critics alike hurried to debate Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre’s legacy, the necessity claimed by the Society and the consequences for traditional Catholics throughout the world. Almost unnoticed, however, another conversation began among canon lawyers.
Cardinal Timothy Radcliffe spoke to AdVaticanum.com on July 4 about his participation in a London Eucharist at Holy Apostles Church including a liturgical blessing for a homosexual couple. The interview is obvious gaslighting, not to say blatant lying, given that the livestream had been published on YouTube. The event was held on June 13 to mark the 50-year homosexual partnership of Julian Filochowski and Martin Pendergast, two longstanding figures in "pastoral outreach" to homosexual Catholics. The principal celebrant was Fr. Jim O'Keefe, with concelebrants including Bishop John Crowley, emeritus of Middlesbrough, and Bishop John Rawsthorne, emeritus of Hallam. "I gave no blessing to anyone" Cardinal Radcliffe claimed: "I gave no blessing to anyone and had not been aware that any blessings would be given." However, the picture above shows him making the sign of the cross during the blessing of the two homosexuals standing side by side like a married couple. The text was based on a …მეტი
Vatican Newspaper Denies Devil: Biblical scholar and feminist Marinella Perroni, 78, wrote for the July issue of L'Osservatore Romano's monthly supplement Donne Chiesa Mondo. She claims that "in the Genesis account there is no devil"; rather, "the serpent is simply the most cunning animal in the eyes of the desert nomads." She argues - that belief in evil spirits entered Jewish theology only at a relatively late stage through contact with other ancient religions, - that the devil as a distinct figure appears only in the late and strongly Hellenized Book of Wisdom, and - that St. Paul and the First Letter to Timothy linked "the serpent, the woman, and the fruit" to "the devil, women, and sin," thereby reinforcing a patriarchal understanding of sexual difference.
California Bishop Celebrates Homosex Eucharist in Cathedral: On 27 June, Bishop Alberto Rojas, 61, of San Bernardino, California, celebrated a homosexual Eucharist at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. Ministers and choir members wore rainbow-coloured stoles. Other rainbow symbols decorated the cathedral. Bishop Rojas used language of unconditional acceptance, emphasising that unrepentant homosexuals 'belong here'. Homosexuals living in civil partnerships attended the Eucharist and were greeted by the bishop.

Effeminate bishop celebrates sacrilegious Eucharist in cathedral: Will he be excommunicated by the Vatican or at least reprimanded? No, that's for those who faithfully uphold the doctrine.
When a search party found Jimmy Shaver wandering near San Antonio, Texas, he appeared to be in a trance, unable to explain where he was or how he had gotten there. After his arrest, he reportedly failed to recognize his own wife when she visited him in jail. Until the moment he was executed four years later, Shaver insisted he had no memory of committing the crime for which he had been sentenced to death.
Has anyone listened to the Catholic apologist on Catholic Answers or EWTN. If so I would be interested in any and all comments, criticisms, praise or questions.
