French Church Vandalised, Nothing Stolen: On 5 July, Saint-Étienne Church in Mulhouse, eastern France, was vandalised. A man entered the church, went straight to the sanctuary, removed the cross from the altar and threw it to the floor. He then knocked over a vase and used the cross to force open the doors of three confessionals, some dating back to the early 19th century. Nothing was stolen; the damage was confined to religious furnishings and symbols.

A native of Karlsruhe, he originally studied law at Heidelberg University before entering the seminary. Depending on the source, estimates range from around 100,000 to as many as 600,000 faithful worldwide. The FSSPX itself continues to publish the figure of 600,000 faithful. However, the number of 600,000 comes from a speech delivered in 2007 by Cardinal Darío Castrillón Hoyos, then President of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei. I know in my Church it's packed during the three Masses held in the morning. And then there is one at night. Usually about half full. You will see people standing during the day. There is a nursing room also with mothers and small children as well as in the Vestibule. And also sometimes in a side room. It holds about 1,000 people or so I believe. We have 7 SSPX Church's in Florida. I would say, and would like to believe that there is at least 600,000 SSPX supporters and attendees.
@HicksonMaike Pope Leo just appointed a bishop to the Diocese of Eichstätt who has been a supporter of the German Syndodal Path, its re-assessment of homosexuality and of female ordination. Not a sign that the pope wishes to correct the current developments in the Church.
