Tucho’s new document contradicts John Paul II. Today, the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, headed by the soft-porn author and Cardinal Víctor “Tucho” Fernández, has published Venite ad Me (“Come to Me”), a document on transmitting the Catholic faith. He disclaims “terminological precision and systematic treatment,” instead adopting a more discursive approach. Tucho creates a contrast between faith and its doctrinal formulations. Paragraph 29 of the document states: “The faith is not transmitted primarily as a body of doctrinal content or religious information, but as a form of ecclesial life into which the believer is gradually introduced.” Tucho’s document uses a “not primarily X, but Y” construction, whereas John Paul II explicitly warns against opposing doctrinal instruction and Christian life. In his 1979 apostolic exhortation 'Catechesi Tradendae', the pope wrote that "no opposition is to be set up between a catechesis taking life as its point of departure and a …ఇంకా
This springs from the age-old, dare I say 'original'(?), error, of dismissing the gift of being made in God's image for the fool's gold of fashioning a calf to worship.
The Church knew in the 1950s that Abbé Pierre was a “seriously sick man”. For decades, Abbé Pierre was revered as France's champion of the poor. But behind his public image as a celebrated humanitarian, Church leaders knew of serious psychiatric problems and allegations of sexual abuse. Historians Axelle Brodiez-Dolino and Bruno Dumons examined Church archives for a new book. In an interview with La Croix (October 17), Brodiez-Dolino discussed their findings. She states that Abbé Pierre was bipolar, while stressing that this does not explain his sexual misconduct. His childhood was marked by unwanted sexual touching by older boys, attraction to boys during adolescence, and a family scandal involving his aunt’s conviction for murdering her husband. In 1955, reports of sexual touching of women during a US visit reached Rome. The Vatican investigated Abbé Pierre over sexual misconduct and also financial irregularities, but imposed only mild sanctions in 1957. Brodiez-Dolino concludes from …ఇంకా
Good for them. I just read where a Catholic supply company is selling day of the dead stuff which is pagan and demonic. They should be marketing All Souls devotionals which has no pagan or witchcraft overtones.
Sentimental secular music performed at the altar of St. Peter’s Basilica. On October 20, Italian singer Gianni Morandi, 81, performed two secular songs in St Peter's Basilica, during the event 'Lectio Petri'. The songs were “C'era un ragazzo che come me amava i Beatles e i Rolling Stones” (1966), an anti-war song, and “Un mondo d'amore” (1967), celebrating love and hope.

French prefect bans FSSPX street processions in Lourdes over "security concerns". The prefecture of Hautes-Pyrénées has banned two processions by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X on October 24–25, citing a terrorist threat and security concerns. The annual Christ the King pilgrimage, expected to draw several thousand faithful, included a torchlight procession and a Blessed Sacrament procession with Benediction and a blessing of the sick. Bishop Jean-Marc Micas has barred FSSPX celebrations inside the sanctuary. Organizers have arranged Masses at Maison Saint-Ignace instead.
For Vatican justice, already under severe scrutiny for the way the major trial was conducted, a new front is opening: that of the transparency of investigations and the guarantees afforded to the defendants. This is a matter likely to weigh on the pontificate of Leo XIV, who is called to deal with the judicial legacy of one of the most controversial proceedings in recent years.
The celebrity priest Fr. Chad Ripperger had his ministry restricted as early as 2025. An investigation published by his critics at WherePeterIs.com on October 20 documents earlier restrictions Fr Ripperger by the Archdiocese of Denver. Fr Ripperger is known for attributing various psychological conditions, temptations, and behaviors to demonic influence. He has associated named demons with abortion, homosexuality, sloth, and other matters, and has described obtaining information about demons by questioning them during alleged exorcisms. In a 2018 lecture, Ripperger claimed that cases of bipolar disorder were actually cases of demonic obsession. Then-Archbishop Samuel Aquila of Denver initiated an investigation in March 2025. It followed a complaint from a family whose relative stopped taking psychiatric medication after following Ripperger's advice and subsequently suffered severe, reportedly irreversible harm. Following the investigation, formal canonical restrictions were imposed in …ఇంకా
I have had issues with Fr. Ripperger for years. Primarily the fact that he encounters demons and understands the diabolic, but he cannot see the demonic crisis in the church?? He goes out of his way to critique and criticize the SSPX and the REAL need for the consecrations. +Abp. Lefebvre's quote about the FSSP and any group or priest who will compromise, hits the nail on the head "They are shaking hands with the Church’s destroyers. They are shaking hands with people holding modernist and liberal ideas condemned by the Church. So they are doing the devil’s work.”
Ripperger recounts developing severe gout after meeting a woman he believed was possessed. He says medication did not help, but performing a minor exorcism on himself made the gout disappear. He attributes the illness to a curse.
‘THE PASSION AND CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS CHRIST AND THE SEVEN LAST WORDS FROM THE CROSS’ By St. ALPHONSUS de LIGUORI; points 2; pp. 12-13; part II [Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori – XVII – XVIII Century AD; born: Marianella, Kingdom of Naples/died: Pagani, Kingdom of Naples; (aged 90); spiritual writer, composer, musician, artist, poet, lawyer, scholastic philosopher, and theologian, Founder, Bishop, Doctor of the Church] VII. THE SEVEN WORDS SPOKEN BY JESUS CHRIST ON THE CROSS 2. "Amen I say to you, this day you shall be with Me in paradise." (Lk 23:43) This holy penitent also exercised other noble virtues; he preached, declaring the innocence of Jesus Christ, This man has done no evil. He exercised love to God, receiving death with resignation, as the punishment due to his sins, saying, We receive the due reward of our deeds. Hence St. Cyprian, St. Jerome, and St. Augustine do not scruple to call him a martyr; and Silveira says that this happy thief was a true martyr, as the executioners …ఇంకా

Jewish settlers’ attacks on Palestinians are not isolated incidents, and despite condemnations by Israeli officials, the violence continues, fueled by persistent impunity for perpetrators. The Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem issued a joint statement following the October 17 settler attack on the Christian village of Taybeh. They insist the attack was not an isolated incident, but part of a wider pattern of settler violence against Palestinian villages across the West Bank, escalating during the olive harvest. The Church leaders acknowledge that Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the violence and that Israeli police made arrests. However, they warn that settler attacks continue because perpetrators enjoy impunity, raising serious concerns about the effectiveness of Israeli law enforcement. Finally, they condemn a recently published religious ruling permitting Jews to take Palestinians' olives, calling it "very worrying and dangerous, and absolutely unacceptable." The …ఇంకా

"They are exacerbating real problems and turning them into social unrest by using young people who may already be experiencing social hardship and are easily influenced as their foot soldiers. They fill their heads with slogans that they then parrot, all in the name of a ‘stolen future’."
